Chief Minsiter of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday visited the Balajan Tinali market where a terror attack had claimed 14 innocent lives on Friday.
Accompanied by senior police officials, including State DGP Mukesh Sahay, Mr. Sonowal visited the market and took stock of the damage.
In his short visit he made a brief stop at a saloon where four persons were killed and visited shops which were gutted in the attack.
"We are committed to protect the people of the State... Whoever is involved in the attack won't be spared," Mr. Sonowal said.
He said that the NDFB(S) is involved in the attack and investigations are on.
Mr. Sonowal told journalist that a DNA test will be conducted on a slain terrorist, identified as Manjay Islari of the 16 battalion of NDFB(S), in order to get forensic evidence in the case.
