52 members take oath

Union Ministers Ambika Soni and Anand Sharma were among the 52 members who took oath on Monday in the Rajya Sabha on the first day of the monsoon session of Parliament.

Lok Jan Shakti Party chief Ram Vilas Paswan, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Mohan Singh and industrialist Vijay Mallya were among those who took the oath.

Congress leaders Ms. Soni and Mr. Sharma, as also V. Hanumantha Rao, Mohsina Kidwai, N. Janardhana Reddy, Satish Sharma; Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders M. Venkaiah Naidu, Rajiv Pratap Rudy; and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader Satish Chandra Mishra have been re-elected to the upper House. Noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi also took the oath.
