1,200 Indians to return by Monday: MEA

About 1,200 Indians are expected to return from war-torn Iraq by Monday, the Ministry of External Affairs said here on Saturday.

On Saturday night, about 200 Indians from Najaf arrived here by an Iraqi Airways chartered flight.

By Sunday, approximately 400 Indian nationals would be returning to Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad by commercial flights.

In addition to these 1200, the Indian Mission in Baghdad was able to persuade Iraqi companies to send back another about 600 Indians.
