The ashes of the Delhi gang rape victim were immersed in the Ganga on Tuesday by her family near her ancestral village in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh.

Her parents and brothers were accompanied to the Bharauli ghat by a large number of people, including Phephna MLA Upendra Tiwari.

The woman’s father thanked the media and people for their support when she struggled for her life over the last two weeks. She aspired to run a hospital in her village, an interior area in one of the most backward districts, he told journalists.
