Congress formally stakes claim to form government in Goa

In a late evening development on Sunday, claiming to be the single largest party in the 36-member truncated  Goa  legislative assembly, the Congress formally staked its claim with Governor Mridula Sinha to form a government in the State.

In a video clip from an alumni day function at IIT Bombay in 2014, the four-time Goa Chief Minister and former Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar —  who passed away on Sunday evening after a prolonged illness  — is described as the “original Aam Aadmi”. Christchurch mosques attack: seven Indians confirmed dead

It is now confirmed that the victims of the terror attack in Christchurch,  New Zealand,  included at least seven Indian nationals. The information came in the backdrop of reports that at least nine Indians, including people of Indian origin, were unaccounted for after a white supremacist from Australia went on a shooting spree in mosques, killing 49.
