US seeks strong military ties with India

The United States is looking forward to working on a strong bilateral relationship with the Indian armed forces, the Pentagon has said.

“We look forward to continuing to work on a strong bilateral relationship with the Indian armed forces,” Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby said on Tuesday.

Kirby however said that US Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel hasn’t yet spoken with his Indian counterpart.

“He (Hagel) has not spoken to his Indian counterpart,” he said.
