A 17-year-old girl from Mumbai who went missing in London while on holiday has been tracked down in Scotland, officials said on Thursday.

Emaan Shah, who was caught on CCTV shopping with her mother on Oxford Street in central London on June 10, was found safe in Northern Perthshire, Scotland.

The reason behind her mysterious disappearance remains unclear.

“Investigating officers from the Metropolitan Police Service are currently liaising with the police in Scotland. We thank media for assistance with appeals,” a Scotland Yard statement said.

Ms. Shah was due to leave the U.K. with her parents on the evening of that day. But in the afternoon she became separated from her parents.

“The disappearance is out of character and officers are keen to trace her as soon as possible,” the police said in an appeal issued soon after she went missing.

The Shah family was staying at the Marriott Hotel in Marble Arch, near Oxford Street.
