A senior al-Qaeda operative Khalid bin Abdul Rahman al Husainan (also known as Abu Zeid al Kuwaiti) has been killed in the U.S. drone attacks that targeted North Waziristan last Thursday. That he had been killed was announced by the al-Qaeda in a statement posted on various websites.

Though the al-Qaeda statement did not specify where al-Kuwaiti had been killed, it did mention that he had been targeted in a drone attack in Pakistan in the wee hours of the morning. According to Site Intelligence Group, al-Kuwaiti was a former imam in Kuwait’s Endowments Ministry who has appeared in many al-Qaeda videos, and published texts on jihad and martyrdom.
