Sharif convenes top-level meeting to discuss LoC tension

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is meeting with Army chiefs and advisers over shelling along the India-Pakistan border.

Mr. Sharif told the National Security Committee that he convened the meeting on Friday in Islamabad, to discuss “tensions” along the Line of Control. His remarks were carried on Pakistani state television.

The shelling began on October 1, 2014 as Muslims in the region were preparing to celebrate the Eid-al-Adha festival.
