Eighteen tribesmen have been abducted by unknown armed gunmen from a suburban locality of the capital of Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

About 60 to 70 armed gunmen raided Faqeer Kalley in Mashokhel area of Badbher, some 10 km south of Peshawar and kidnapped 18 people of Shinwari clan from the village on Friday night, official sources said.

No one has claimed responsibility for the kidnapping.

Separately, the Khyber Agency administration has suspended the polio vaccination drive scheduled to begin on March 17, due to the law and order situation in the area.
