Officials say Britain’s Prince William and his new wife, the former Kate Middleton, have left the island nation of the Seychelles after a 10—day honeymoon.

A statement by the Seychelles government says the East African nation was honoured to have hosted the two for a peaceful and private holiday.

The Seychelles coast guard helped ensure the couple’s privacy as they stayed on North Island. On their last day the royal couple invited the coastguard ashore to personally thank them for their efforts.

The head of the Seychelles tourism board Alain St Ange says the couple left happy and contented.

The British High Commissioner Patrick Pillay says they were a welcome breath of fresh air with their warmth and humility.
