A Bolivian passenger plane crashed Sunday on landing at the airport of the Amazon city, Riberalta, in eastern Bolivia, killing a number of people, according to various local media reports.
The number of deaths reported varied between four and eight. Nine people were injured, two of them seriously, the reports said.
The propeller plane, operated by the Bolivian airline, Aerocon, exploded after the crash.
The aircraft had room for 30 passengers. The airport’s origin airport was not clear.
Bolivian President Evo Morales expressed condolences to family members of the victims and announced an investigation would be held.
