Seven Indonesian men have gone on trial on charges of conspiring with terrorists and recruiting for militant groups in the Mideast.
Prosecutors accuse Ahmad Junaedi, Ridwan Sungkar, Helmi Alamudi and Abdul Hakim of joining the Islamic State groups in Syria, and three others of helping them and other militants go to the Gulf states.
The men, aged 32 to 51, were arrested late March and early April in the capital, Jakarta and East Java town of Malang.
They were tried in separate trials on Monday at the West Jakarta District Court.
Prosecutors said the four defendants have attended military training and joined war with Islamic States group to revenge the deaths of Islamic fighters.
They face up to 20 years in jail if found guilty under the anti-terror law.
