Bus train collision kills 13 in Indonesian capital

At least 13 people were killed when a minibus collided with a train in the Indonesian capital Jakarta on Sunday, an official said.

The collision occurred around 8.48 a.m. at Muara Angke train station crossroad. The minibus went through the crossroad despite the warning signal, Xinhua news agency reported.

“So far, those killed in the crash were 13 people. Their bodies were evacuated to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital,” Tambora precinct police chief Wirdhanto, who was overseeing the crash location, said.

The bus was dragged 400 metres after being hit by the train, the official said.
