Angola’s troubled Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plant is set to resume operations by the end of this year after repairs, state media in the southwest African nation said on Wednesday.
A major rupture on a flare line triggered a facility-wide shutdown in April 2014 after less than a year of operation. The plant needed major reconstruction to fix design flaws and corrosion of nearly-new equipment, pushing unofficial estimates of the project’s cost to at least $12 billion.
