UK soldier killed in Afghan bomb attack

Britain’s defense ministry says that a soldier was killed in a bomb attack in Afghanistan.

The soldier, from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, died on Wednesday in an explosion at the Babaji District of Helmand Province. His name was not immediately released.

His death raised the total number of British soldiers killed in Afghanistan since 2001 to 211.
