The Balochistan High Court issued notices to former President Pervez Musharraf and several others of his erstwhile regime on Thursday asking them to respond at the next hearing of a petition seeking the filing of a murder case against them in the killing of Baloch leader Nawab Akbar Bugti.

Among the others to whom the notices were issued are former Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz, ex-Federal Interior Minister Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, former Governor Balochistan Owais Ahmed Ghani, former Chief Minister Balochistan Jaam Yousuf and former Provincial Minister for Interior Shoaib Nosherwani.

The court has fixed the next hearing on October 4.

Nawab Bugti was killed on August 26, 2006 in a military operation targeting his mountain hide-out in the Kohlu district. The petition was filed by the late Bugti's son, Jamil Akbar Bugti.
