The U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has expressed condolences to those affected by the earthquake in China.

“On behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States, I send our deepest condolences to those affected by the recent tragedy in south-western China,” Ms. Clinton said in a statement.

“As people in Yunnan province mourn the loss of life and work to save those that are injured and trapped in the rubble, our thoughts are with the injured, the families of the victims, and with all the people of China,” she said.

25 people were reportedly killed when the earthquake struck in south-west China near the border with Myanmar.
