Germany expels five Libyan diplomats

The ministry said on Wednesday the Libyan ambassador had been summoned and was informed the five must leave the country within a week, according to the DAPD news agency. The ministry did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Germany’s Foreign Ministry says five Libyan diplomats have been asked to leave the country for pressuring Libyan expatriates in the country.

The ministry said on Wednesday the Libyan ambassador had been summoned and was informed the five must leave the country within a week, according to the DAPD news agency. The ministry did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Germany has refused to take part in the NATO—led bombing campaign against Libya on grounds it is too risky.
