6.1 magnitude earthquake hits Costa Rica

An earthquake measuring 6.1 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Pacific coast of Costa Rica on Monday night, the USGS said. No casualties or damage were reported so far. The quake was centred some 46 miles (74 kms) southwest of the capital San Jose and 18.2 miles (29 kms) below the sea.
