Iraqi police and hospital officials said that six people have been killed and dozens injured in a series of bombings across the capital as Iraqis headed to work.
The blasts went off on Sunday morning in Baghdad’s eastern Sadr City neighbourhood and in the southwestern neighbourhood of Bayaa.
Police and hospital officials said five people were killed in Bayaa and one in Sadr City.
Altogether there were at least eight explosions.
The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
