At least 13 people were killed and 27 other were injured in a suicide attack at a shrine in Jhal Magsi town in Balochistan.

Senior Superintendent of Police Jhal Magsi Mohammed Iqbal said a suicide attacker exploded himself at the gate of Fatehpur dargah when police guards spotted him and tried to stop him from going inside. "Most of the devotees killed belonged to Shahdadkot and Shikarpur of Sindh province. They had come to attend the urs at the dargah. One policeman had also lost his life," he said.

One of the devotees Sajjad said he heard a huge blast when a traditional “dhamaal” was being conducted in the dargah.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

This is the second major attack on a shrine in Pakistan. Earlier this year more than 80 people died at Lal Shahbaz Qalander shrine in Sindh province.
