Velmurugan slams Centre for delaying CMB

Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi (TVK) founder T. Velmurugan on Wednesday accused the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government at the Centre of doing injustice to Tamil Nadu by not forming the Cauvery Management Board and the Cauvery Water Regulation Committee as directed by the Supreme Court. Mr. Velmurugan told presspersons at Neyveli that despite the Supreme Court order, the Centre was dragging its fieet on forming the CMB. The Centre’s move had crushed the livelihood of farmers in delta districts.

Tamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi would continue to protest demanding that the Tamil Nadu government declare the Cauvery delta as a protected agricultural zone, he added.
