Employees led by Pondicherry University SC/ST Employees Welfare Association staged a one-day token hunger strike to demand redress of their long-pending grievances such as time-bound promotions.
Association president Jerome Samraj and general secretary Ravi led the protest.
According to a press note from the association, all the service associations extended their support. Kasirajan, president of Pondicherry University Officers Association, and Non Teaching Associations office-bearers Paneerselvame and Subramanian addressed the gathering.
