Government has reconstituted Under-trial District Review Committees for Puducherry and Karaikal under District and Sessions Judges. According to notification, the Supreme Court of India in its order dated August 7 in writ petitions has directed that the Undertrial Review Committee should also have the Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority as one of the members of the committee.
In compliance with the directions of the Supreme Court, the government notified the constitution of the District Level Undertrial Review Committees in the Union territory of Puducherry.
