Aurokrishi, a joint initiative of Grammonati Trust and Sri Aurobindo Society held a training programme on organic gardening. Co-founder and CEO of Aurokrishi V. P Sharma in a statement said the programme was held to train at least 5,000 retired soldiers and rural youth to take up entrepreneurship in organic farming over the next five years.

Farming practices

It also aimed to spread awareness on organic farming practices. Organic farming was an alternate agricultural system originated as a reaction to rapidly changing farming practices, he said.

The event was held at Sharanam Training Facility near Ousteri Lake Estate.
