Ties with AINRC will continue: BJP leader

The Bharathiya Janatha Party, Puducherry unit president M.Visweswaran on Wednesday said his party would continue its alliance with the ruling All India NR Congress to face the Assembly elections in 2016.

Optimistic view

Addressing reporters here along with BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha wing secretary, Narasinga Rao, Mr. Visweswaran was optimistic that at least two Adi Dravida MLAs from BJP would be elected to the Legislative Assembly in the coming elections.

Mr. Rao added that the BJP-led National Democratic Government under the Prime Minister Narendra Modi accorded top priority to implement welfare schemes for scheduled caste people.

He also said the BJP champions the cause of scheduled castes and there was due representation for scheduled castes in the party.
