Three arrested for burglary, stolen jewellery and cash recovered

All the accused were arrested during routine vehicle checks

The D. Nagar police have arrested three persons in connection with the burglary at a house in New Saram.

The police gave the name of the accused as G. Dhilipkumar, Sathish alias Ramprabhu and V. Segar.

The first two are residents of New Saram and the other of Vennila Nagar, said Chintha Kothandaraman, Superintendent of Police, North.

The police have recovered 14 sovereigns of gold and 1.5 kg of silver articles from their custody.

They also recovered ₹5,000 stolen from the house, Mr. Kothandaraman said.

The accused persons were arrested during a routine vehicle conducted by sub-inspector of Police G. Thirumurugan.

Taken into custody

Mr. Kothandaraman said they were taken into custody on suspicion but during sustained interrogation admitted about the burglary committed in New Saram.

The accused confessed of entering the house on June 21 night through back door and decamped with gold and silver items.
