Fiery protest: AIDWA members setting fire to the posters of a Tamil film at Balaji cinema in Puducherry.

Members of the All India Democratic Women’s Association (AIDWA) on Saturday staged a protest in front of the Balaji cinema on Kamaraj Salai against the screening of Santhosh Jayakumar’s Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu movie.

The agitators, led by AIDWA pradesh secretary Sandhya, tore down the posters on the wall of the cinema.

They raised slogans against the screening of the movie which has been given ‘A’ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.

On receiving information, the police rushed to the spot and pacified the protesters following which they withdrew their agitation.
