The officials of Airports Authority of India (AAI) have visited the slaughterhouse at Attupatti, Puducherry Municipality to be modernised at the cost of over Rs. 5 crore.

K. Now as per orders of Supreme Court of India and under the guidance of State Committee for Slaughterhouse, the existing slaughterhouse is being modernised.

He also added that the objective of the mission is to prevent illegal slaughtering and road side slaughtering and to provide clean and hygienic meat to public.

Incinerator

An effluent treatment plant and incinerator will be established for proper disposal of waste and to prevent environment pollution.

Also, by setting up the modernised slaughterhouse, the transportation of clean meat from slaughterhouse to markets would be ensured.
