A recent session held as part of Jipmer’s health awareness series focused on an issue of emerging importance — mental health in the workplace. About 300 people participated in the session led by experts who dealt with issues related to mental health and interpersonal relationships between employer, employee and colleagues.
The programme, organised under the auspices of the Jipmer “Health Education for All” forum, focused on building knowledge and clearing doubts among the general public, issues related to common mental health and interpersonal relationship issues in work place, prevention and treatment.
The discussion focused on recognising signs and symptoms of common mental health issues, and how to cope up with them in the work place.
The panel comprised of Dr. Ravi Philip Rajkumar, Associate Professor; Dr. S. Gopinath, Senior Resident; Mr. K. Arivazhagan, clinical & social psychologist-cum-tutor; K. Greeshma, psychiatric social Worker and tutor from the Department of Psychiatry. The session was moderated by Dr. S. Karthick, Senior Resident.
The session was also telecast live to all medical colleges of South India under the National Medical College Network (NMCN) Project through Jipmer Regional Resource Centre.
