SAP for cane fixed at Rs. 2,700 a tonne

The government on Friday fixed Rs. 2,700 as State Advisory Price (SAP) per tonne of sugarcane. Chief Minister N. Rangasamy made the announcement after conducting a tripartite meeting with sugarcane growers and the mill management.

A press release from the Chief Minister’s office said, “Following the requests of farmers, Chief Minister Mr. Rangasamy in consultation with Agriculture Minister M. Chandrakasu announced Rs. 2,700 would be paid to farmers for a tonne of sugarcane. Around 3,200 farmers will be benefited from the price.”
