A 62-year-old man died and three were injured in a head-on collision between two cars at Semmankuppam near Cuddalore on Monday. The name of the dead person was given as R. Sundaram, Professor of English and former Principal of Tagore Arts College in Puducherry.
Police said Mr. Sundaram, his wife Jayanthi (58), a professor of English, his nephew Arun Kumar (40) and relative Karikalan (40) of Chennai were travelling by a car from Cuddalore to Chidambaram when another car in the opposite direction collided with their vehicle at Semmankuppam. The injured were being treated at Jipmer hospital.
