Police arrest three for chain-snatching

The Cuddalore Police on Wednesday arrested three persons on the charge of snatching a two-and-a-half sovereign gold chain from a housewife at the Tamil Nadu Housing Board quarters at Pachayankuppam.

According to the police, the accused identified as K. Sathish Kumar, 30, of Pachayankuppam, S. Santhosh Kumar of Vadalur and R. Ranjith alias Sathyamoorthi, 31, of Tiruvallur district went to the house of Vijayalakshmi under the pretext of looking for a house on rent. They snatched the gold chain from the victim and fled. The police examined the CCTV footage and nabbed the trio.

The police recovered the gold chain and remanded them.
