Dr Abdul Kalam Science Centre and Planetarium will launch a 25-minute video show on planet Mars, starting Thursday. The show named ‘Invaders of Mars’ will illustrate how Tuesday (Mangalwar in Hindi) got its name from the planet, its appearance as a red star in the sky and the craters formed on the surface and the ice crystals in some regions of the planet.
The video will also feature pictures captured during missions to the planet and formation of carbon dioxide gas in some regions inside the planet. Astrophiles can also get glimpses of one of the moon’s and the first giant telescopic observation of the planet by Galileo Galilei during the show.
There will be five regular shows, except on Mondays and on government holidays.
Shows will be held at 10. 30 a.m, 11. 30 a.m, 12. 30 p.m, 3 p.m and 4 p.m.
While adults and children have to pay ₹30 and ₹15 respectively as entry fee, there will be no ticket charge for government school students.
