Training on juvenile justice today

The Union Territory of Puducherry Legal Services Authority will organise a one-day training programme on juvenile crime and handling juveniles on Wednesday for police officers.

According to a press note issued by G. Sengil Kumar, Member Secretary/District judge, the programme is being held as part of implementation various schemes and on directions of National Legal Services Authority.

The police officers who were designated as juvenile/ child welfare officers, special public prosecutors, assistant public prosecutors, probation officers, protection officers are expected to participate.

Principal District Judge C.V. Karthikeyan will inaugurate the programme. The chairman and members of Chid Welfare Committee have been nominated as resource persons to impart training.
