Ruling AINRC MLA G. Nehru who had resigned from the post of Government whip along with his supporters picketed the office of the Puducherry Backward Classes and Minorities Development Corporation on Friday alleging step-motherly attitude in disbursal of educational loans to students from Orleanpet constituency.

The agitators led by Mr. Nehru locked the main gates of the Corporation and raised slogans against the Corporation.

Mr. Nehru said that the loan application of several students from Orleanpet constituency who had applied for educational loans were not processed by the officials in the Corporation. The students were also not aware of the status of their applications, he said.

Mr. Nehru alleged that corrupt practices were being adopted in the disbursal of educational loans and indulged in heated arguments with the corporation’s chairman C. Balamurugan. Mr. Balamurugan assured Mr. Nehru that there would be no discrimination in disbursal of education loans and sanctioned loans to two students from Orleanpet.
