Vehicle meant for Deputy Chief Minister O. Paneerselvam for campaigning turned on its side near Naduvattam along the road between Ooty and Gudalur on Thursday.

A specially-modified vehicle, which was to be used by AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam for campaigning in the Nilgiris, met with a minor accident near Naduvattam, between Udhagamandalam and Gudalur towns on Thursday morning. Mr. Panneerselvam was not in the vehicle.

Police officials at the accident site said the vehicle was proceeding with the rest of the VIP convoy when the driver took a sharp turn at a high speed, causing it land on its side.
