Manakula Vinayagar Institute of Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Confederation of Indian Industry Puducherry State Council to promote industry-academia engagement.

Among the MoU’s objectives is to enable long term planning by both parties for time, resources and manpower for the engagement. The MoU will also help in predictability of work plan and ensure long term engagement irrespective of change in office bearers at both sides.

Besides, it is expected to help in long term educational, research and management development programmes with collaboration under Industry-Institute Connect in fields which are compatible with the orientation of each institution, and which are relevant to the industrial, social and cultural interests and needs of the society wherein the parties are respectively located.

The collaboration involves establishment of incubation cell for the college students to create employment, study programs, knowledge sharing, internship training for the new generation of entrepreneurs. The initial focus will be collaboration through interface among industry representatives and academic fraternity with an intention of making students employable as desired by the industry.

The Chairman and Managing Director of Manakkula Vinayagar Group of Institutions M. Danasekaran, Vice Chairman S.V. Sugumaran, MLA and secretary Narayanasamy Kesavan presided over the MoU signing function.

College Principal S. Malarkannan and M.Kalaiichelvan, CII Puducherry chairman signed the MoU in presence of M. Sankaranarayanan, Vice Chairman, CII Puducherry & Lead Convenor - Membership Panel Harsh Vardhan Saraogi, co-convenor-MSME Panel, Samir Kamra, co-convenor-Industry Institute Connect Panel, Srinivas Satish, Head, CII Puducherry State Office, M Jayekumar, College Placement Department Officer and Sudha, Coordinator, CII-Puducherry.

Teacher’s day at IFET College of Engineering

Teacher’s day was celebrated in IFET College of Engineering Villupuram. IFET chairman K.V. Raja, vice chairman A. Mohamed Ilyas and secretary K. Shivram Alva addressed the gathering. The speakers highlighted the role of teachers in moulding the students to become responsible citizens of the nation. Principal G. Mahendran, S. Matilda, Vice Principal and Dean Placement J. Asha spoke.

On the occasion 126 faculty members who produced results above 95% in the University Examinations were appreciated with certificates and cash awards totalling to ₹ 2,79,000. The function was coordinated by a team led by M. Sakthivel and P. Meenakshi, faculty.

Lecture on Graph Labelling at Ammal College

The Department of Mathematics at Theivanai Ammal College, Villupuram, organised a lecture via video conference on the topic of “Graph Labelling”.

In her invited lecture, K. Ameenal Bibi, Associate Professor, Department of Mathematics, D K M College for women, Vellore, explained the basic concepts of graph theory, graphs and labelling, the importance of research in pure mathematics and its applications in the real life.

Around 390 students and 15 faculty members from the department participated.

J. Surendrakumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics and K.Dhanalakshmi, Assistant Professor, also spoke.
