Over 200 employees of a private leather factory on Friday blocked traffic on Vazhudavoor Road seeking adequate compensation for the death of a woman employee.

The protestors alleged that the woman, Bhuvaneswari (32), wife of Paramasivam of Reddichavadi, who was working in the private factory fell ill a few days ago. She was admitted to the Puducherry Government Medical College and Hospital at Kathirgamam where she died on Thursday night.

The protesting employees also sought regular medical check up for them. Senior police officials pacified the protestors.
