Law and order in a shambles in Puducherry, says Congress


The Congress will soon write to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh seeking his intervention to uphold law and order in Puducherry.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, Leader of the Opposition V. Vaithilingam and Pradesh Congress Committee president A.V. Subramaniam said the murder of an AINRC functionary, Velayudham, a few days ago highlighted the poor state of law and order in the Union Territory.

Several industries had shifted to neighbouring States owing to the deterioration in the law and order, Mr. Vaithilingam said. A party delegation would also meet Lieutenant Governor A.K. Singh, he said.
