Employees of the Perunthalaivar Kamaraj Krishi Vigyan Kendra staged a protest in front of the research centre at Kurumbapet near here on Monday demanding immediate disbursement of pending salaries for the last 63 months.

The protesters, led by N. Yogesh, convenor of the Joint Action Committee of workers, said that over 350 regular and part-time workers were yet to receive their salaries for nearly 63 months. Although repeated representations were made to the authorities concerned, it had failed to evoke any response, the JAC said. Mr. Yogesh demanded that the Puducherry government regularise the services of workers who had put in more than 15 years.
