The Sethiathoppu All Women Police Station on Wednesday arrested three persons, including a juvenile, for sexually assaulting a minor girl over the last eight months.
According to police, the juvenile, studying Plus Two in a government school, was known to the victim. He and his friends had sexually assaulted the girl over the past eight months.
When the girl complained of stomach pain, her parents took her to a hospital.
Upon examination, it was found that the girl had been sexually assaulted. On her parents complaint, the police arrested the juvenile and his friends and booked them under Sections 3,4, 5 and 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act. The juvenile was sent to a Government Observation Home while the two boys were remanded in custody.
