Justice will prevail in T.N., says Narayanasamy

The Puducherry Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) has put its weight behind the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam in their fight against Edappadi K. Palaniswami led-AIADMK government in Tamil Nadu.

Expressing solidarity with its alliance partner, Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy along with his cabinet colleagues A. Namassivayam, who is also the PCC chief, and R. Kamalakannan took part in the fast organised by DMK on Wednesday.

Addressing DMK cadre, he said Mr. Palaniswami had occupied the Chief Minister’s post in the most undemocratic manner. The death of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister had created a vacuum in the State.

Her death created confusion and the State has beenpushed backwards, he said.

Mr. Narayanasamy said it was unfortunate that the legislators were kept in a resort before the confidence vote. If the Speaker had heeded to the request made by DMK leader M.K. Stalin to hold a secret ballot, things would have been different.

There was no purpose in proving the majority after evicting the opposition legislators, he said adding the new dispensation had come through the back door.

‘People want change’

Mr. Narayanasamy said people of Tamil Nadu were hoping for a change in the government. “Justice will soon prevail in T.N.,” he added. The DMK cadre held a fast to condemn the “assault’’ on their party leader Mr. Stalin at the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly.

While, the cadre led by its convenor of the of North wing S.P. Sivakumar observed the fast in front of the Head Post Office, volunteers attached to the South wing staged a protest near Swadeshi Cotton Mill under the leadership of R. Siva, former Chief Minister R.V. Janakiraman. Former MP C.P. Thirunavakarasu also participated.
