John Kumar sworn in as MLA

He won the Kamaraj Nagar bypoll by a margin of 7,170 votes

A. John Kumar, who won the recent Kamaraj Nagar byelection, was on Friday sworn in as a Member of the Legislative Assembly.

Speaker V. P Sivakolundhu administered the oath at a brief function held at the Assembly premises. Mr. Kumar had won the byelection by a margin of 7,170 votes.

He had to earlier vacate the Nellithope Assembly segment to enable Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy to contest a byelection.

The swearing-in was attended by Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy, Member of Parliament V. Vaithilingam, Ministers, legislators belonging to Congress and DMK, besides Left party leaders. The principal Opposition party AlNRC and AIADMK boycotted the function.
