Suki Sivam, scholar-orator, has urged teachers and parents to enable every child to celebrate his or her uniqueness.

Addressing a recent programme on the art of parenting under the topic “Azhagai Vazhvom” hosted by Vidhya Niketan HSS, Mr. Sivam sought to drive home the truth that each and every child was uniquely designed from a genetics perspective.

Some impressions related to the child’s experiences gets deeply stored in the subconscious mind and manifests in their behaviour. Even an autistic child can be perfectly trained when his or her area of interest is clearly determined, Mr. Sivam said.

“Proper teaching with patience, care and concern from the parents can fulfil the purpose of the child in this earth.”

It is also important to raise children in a fearless and peaceful atmosphere — something that institutions like Vidhya Niketan practise. Right learning and right education can be a powerful weapon which can erase and replace negative impressions with positive and healthy patterns, he said.

Healthy society

Emphasising the point that this was the only way to create a wise, healthy and happy society, Mr. Sivam concluded that every parent and every educational institution should strive to achieve this goal.

Earlier, K. Bala Padma Rani, founder-correspondent of the school, which espouses the philosophy of J. Krishnamurti, educationist-philosopher and founder of Rishi Valley School, laid out the context of the topic.
