Wheel back the years as a cavalcade of vintage automobiles arrives in the city on Saturday as part of The Hindu Chennai-Pondy Heritage Car Rally.
Presented by Golden Homes in association with Madras Heritage Motoring Club and Puducherry Tourism, the event will be flagged off by Balsingh George, Chairman and Managing Director, Golden Homes Private Limited from Edward Elliots Beach, Besant Nagar in Chennai at 8.30 a.m.
Over 50 models of vintage cars, including the Dodge Kingsway Convertible, Chevrolet Impala, Morris Minor (convertible) and the Plymouth Sedan and bikes, will head towards Puducherry along the ECR.
After a pit-stop at ECR Marg, the rally reaches the premises of the Pondicherry University at noon.
For four hours from 4 p.m. the participating vehicles will be on display on the Promenade Beach.
On Sunday, the return trip gets flagged off from the Beach at 8 a.m. The event draws to a close with a ceremony and display at Radisson Resorts Temple Bay, Mamallapuram.
