The Neyveli Lignite Corporation India Ltd (NLCIL) organised the second in its series of Arogyaa camps focusing on checking haemoglobin (Hb) level for girl students of Jawahar Science College.
About 300 college students underwent diagnostic check up for Hb count and were provided haemoglobin tonic and a booklet on Role of Food for Healthy Body.
A special lecture and presentation was given on iron deficiency and its effects on girl children by Dr. Shanmuga Priya of Pondicherry Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
PIMS is co-hosting the Aarogyaa camps organised as part of NLCIL’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.
The second camp was organised by Neyveli Ladies club in coordination with the People Service Group, Neyveli .
Yogamaya Acharya, president, Ladies Club and Sneha Opportunity Services inaugurated. Devaghi Thangapandian, Sudeshna Das, Shanthi Vikraman, R. Mohan, CGM, CSR, J. Peter James, GM/CSR, V.T. Chandra Sekaran Principal, Jawahar Science College and Mathivanan, College Assistant Secretary participated.
The total number of Arogyaa Camps planned for this year are 12 (10 medical camps and two obstetrics / gynaecology camps) in addition to four special camps to check haemoglobin for adolescent school/college girl students.
