May 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - PUDUCHERRY:

The AIADMK Legislator, Om Sakthi Sekar, on Tuesday protested against the Puducherry government for adopting a biased approach while providing employment opportunities to youth in various government departments.

Participating in the general discussion on the budget, Mr. Sekar said that the ruling party held constituencies are pampered in employment opportunities while the candidates in opposition held segments are discriminated against.

Referring to the predicament of candidates in Nellithope constituency, Mr. Sekar said that candidates from all the constituencies must be given equal employment opportunities.

‘Wrong allegations’

Speaker V. Sabapathy said that the AIADMK MLA was making wrong allegations and clarified that candidates with merit alone were selected without consideration of the constituencies.

He said that the Chief Minister was very specific that only merit must be the criteria.
