Mysore’s prestigious heritage product, the Mysore Silk will go on display at an exhibition beginning here on Friday.
The exhibition hosted by the Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation will showcase designer collection of crepe de chine saris, georgettes and plain printed saris besides scarves and ties.
A highlight of the exhibition will be the display of winning exhibits from the Vintage Sari Contest featuring saris made before 1974 at the Silk Weaving Factory in Mysore. The KSIC is launching a new design manufactured through the e-jacquared machine at the Mysore factory.
The expo coincides with the centenary celebrations of Mysore factory. Chief Secretary Manoj Parida will inaugurate the expo at Vijayentra Hotel at 11 a.m. The event concludes on November 2.
